"Related commissioned Robert A.M. Stern, the then new dean of the Yale School of Architecture and one of America's preeminent architects, to design its first new-construction luxury condominium development in New York City: The Chatham at 181 East 65th Street, the former site of the renowned Sign of the Dove restaurant. The Chatham's limestone base with a Georgian-inspired brick facade and stone accents were intented to harmonize with the classic and elegant architecture of the Upper East Side, in the tradition of the best of New York's grand apartment buildings, marrying convenience and charm in a seamless package. It worked. This marks Related's third development with Stem as architect, and Stem's first condominium tower in the United States."
