between Seventh Avenue & Eighth Avenue View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 224 West 18th Street by Carter Horsley

This handsome, 12-story condominium apartment building was completed in 2003 and was designed by Gene Kaufman.

"Campiello" is Italian for "small field, or shaded courtyard," and this development has a "sibling" building on West 17th Street and they share landscaped gardens.

The building has a stone and cherry wood lobby with a 24-hour concierge. The building has a valet-attended garage, a resident building manager, and a health club.

The apartments have washers and dryers and custom climate control, as well as gas-burning fireplaces, wine coolers, floor-to-ceiling windows and maple flooring.

Full-floor penthouse apartments have 70- to 80-foot living rooms with four exposures. The building, which has a central Chelsea location, has a roofdeck.
