    How was this building rated?

    This handsome, 10-story apartment building was erected in 1917 and converted to a cooperative in 1954. It has 34 apartments.

    The brown-brick building has a canopied entrance that is flanked by four decorative, two-story-high sandstone pilasters. The doorman building has unusual bay windows that are slightly angled and inconsistent fenestration. It is just to the west of a garage. The building, which has a cornice and two bandcourses, permits protruding air-conditioners and has no sidewalk landscaping.

    This is a quiet street in a busy, but convenient neighborhood. Supermarkets and video rental stores are nearby and an express subway station is two blocks to the north. There is excellent crosstown bus service on 86th Street, where there are movie theaters and a wide variety of stores, and 79th Streets.

    There are many restaurants in the vicinity and Central Park and Fifth Avenue's "Museum Mile" are not far away.
